Workshops 2020-2021

As part of our educational efforts, we offer full-day workshops with the opportunity to delve into a topic, roll up your sleeves and get hands-on experience. When meeting in person, we typically take a nice lunch break together at a nearby restaurant (what you select is at your own expense), giving us time to get to know one another and exchange ideas stimulated by the workshop.

Workshop Locations
We have scheduled the space for in-person workshops this season, however if the gathering guidelines prohibit us from being together in person, our programs will be held on Zoom instead. Our newly schedules November 2020 workshop will be on Zoom. The March 2021 workshop is scheduled for Fisk Hall. (Wesleyan University does not endorse or sponsor ASC events.) THE JUPITER/SATURN CONJUNCTION IN AQUARIUS
Eileen McCabe

The Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius is a twenty-year cycle that will impact both the individual and the collective. Dane Rudhyar called Jupiter and Saturn the planets of socialization, saying that these two planets contribute to how we give our existence a sense of meaning and life purpose. While Jupiter symbolizes our potential for social expansion, Saturn shows how we define and crystallize our identity in the outer world. How will this special conjunction change your life and what will be your own personal contribution to the evolution of consciousness? In this workshop, we will explore the overall meaning of a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, the significance of Saturn and Jupiter moving into an Air sign, and how the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius will affect all the signs of the zodiac. This workshop will be interactive with the attendees and Eileen, so bring your charts and questions!

Eileen McCabe is a professional astrologer and social worker with a private practice in New York. She has received the NCGR-PAA Level IV certification as a consulting astrologer has a graduate degree in social work from Fordham University and has a certificate in psychotherapy from The Training Institute of Self Psychology. Forecasting Techniques that Really Work

Many of us have favorite techniques for forecasting that work better than others. In this workshop, Ronnie will share those that really work, culled from more than 30 years as a practicing astrologer, using sample celebrity and client charts to illustrate these techniques. These include, but are not limited to, eclipses, retrograde stations, transits and Indian planetary periods (dashas). These techniques will work with Eastern and Western charts and are suitable for all levels of expertise. That is what makes them so valuable.

Ronnie Gale Dreyer is an internationally known consultant, lecturer, and teacher based in NYC. She has lectured throughout the world, conducts ongoing classes/webinars, and wrote numerous books including Venus, Healing Signs, and Vedic Astrology.  Ronnie co-authored, with Nick Campion, a chapter in Religious Transformation in Modern Asia. She has been guest lecturer in Indian Cosmology for the M.A. Distance Learning Program in Cultural Astronomy at University of Wales. Ronnie received her M.A. in South Asian Languages and Cultures from Columbia University. Check out Ronnie’s website ronniedreyer.com/

The Rhythms of Your Life: Honing Your Forecasting Skills

As astrologers, rather than using forecasting tools to make firm predictions, we do our best work when we articulate the processes that can take place under various transits, progressions or directions. In doing so, students and clients recognize the “season” they’re in and become aware of personal celestial cycles. This talk will offer several tools, including “Define and Connect,” to simplify the process of interpretation.

Solar Arc Directions: An Interactive Session

Frank will demonstrate how Solar Arcs are among the most powerful and reliable of astrological measurements. He’ll show how to pinpoint landmark periods in your life. Then, he’ll work with some horoscopes from the audience to spot, define and articulate a range of Directions that will (hopefully!) amaze everyone with their simplicity and accuracy. If you want to enhance your forecasting skills, this is the talk to come to! Solar Arcs provide information about past and present circumstances, as well as future possibilities. Starting a consultation with Solar Arcs can help to break the ice and gain a client’s trust. Join Frank to learn how to use and decode a remarkable tool that reminds us that every moment is fascinating and full of meaning.

Frank Clifford is an accomplished astrologer and palmist who has been writing and lecturing on both subjects for 30 years. He lives just outside London and has run the popular London School of Astrology since 2004. Over twenty years ago, Frank founded a publishing company, Flare, to publish books in the Mind, Body and Spirit field. Frank lectures internationally, appears at corporate events and parties, and runs a consultation practice. Frank’s website is frankclifford.co.uk
